I am product of your cooperative giving through the Cooperative Program (CP). Long before I became your Lead State Missionary, supported by your Cooperative Program giving, God was growing me through Southern Baptist investment in me through the Cooperative Program.
I was born to parents who were attending one of your SBC seminaries, who quickly after graduation went to Central America as your SBC missionaries. After returning to the USA, my mother was employed by your Home Mission Board (now the NAMB). After high school, I attended and graduated from two colleges and two seminaries, all supported by the Cooperative Program giving of Southern Baptist. While in school, I served several times as a Cooperative Program supported Summer Missionary, one summer at Bambi Lake in Michigan (1981).
While serving as a pastor and involved in cooperative missions, God led me to serve in Michigan as your North American Mission Board appointed associational missionary. After 10 years of service, God moved me to be your Cooperative Program supported Lead State Missionary.
Can you see a common denominator of how God has worked in my life because of you, and other Southern Baptist’s cooperative mission investment? There is no doubt, I am a product of your cooperative mission giving through the Cooperative Program.
You may not realize it, but Sunday, April 10 is Cooperative Program Sunday among Southern Baptist churches. Let me encourage you to download a CP Video HERE, and use it this Sunday. Help us develop more “Products of the Cooperative Program” among our members. We need more leaders that understand the value of cooperative work. I can think of no better way to do ministry than in cooperation with each other. Let’s celebrate together!
